Caesy

The Dales Pony originates from the hill regions of northern England and is one of Britain’s oldest native breeds. It was bred for carrying heavy loads in the lead mining industry, pulling carts, and serving as a riding pony.

The Dales Pony is known for its compact, muscular build with a deep chest, strong hindquarters, and feathered legs. Its head features large, expressive eyes and small, alert ears. Black is the most common coat color, though bay and grey also occur. White markings are rare and usually limited to the head.

The breed’s foundation lies in the crossing of native moorland ponies with Friesians, Norfolk Trotters, and Welsh Cobs. These influences shaped the Dales Pony into a strong, sure-footed, enduring, and even-tempered companion.

Dales Pony

Caesy started out as an idea in 2019. I first created her in stablemate scale, but eventually lost interest in the project and left her in the abyss of my ideas. In 2025, I stumbled across her again, and since I had always adored her reference over the years, I wanted to give her a new breath of life.

Caesy is now my first sculpture to be released as a resin edition in a larger scale. She is cast by Janine Metzler of bee casted and produced in white polyurethane resin with wire reinforcements.

She stands securely on a removable base, connected with two pegs to her ground-touching hooves.

Caesy measures 9,4 cm (3.7") in height (with base, to the tip of her mane) and 14,9 cm (5.87") in length (from tail to ear tip). The base itself is slightly longer, measuring 15,2 cm (5.98"). Her scale is approximately 1:20, comparable to CollectA’s horse sculptures. Caesy will be a single-mold release, with currently 30 pieces available for order and two artist copies.
